Epson SX405 – All round Inkjet printer
The Epson Stylus SX405 is a latest in a long line of multifunction inkjet printers which offer printing as well as scanning and photocopier, but is the SX405 any different from previous models? Well it has a built-in memory card reader and LCD screen which enables direct photo printing without the need for a PC. Another PC-free feature is the photo copier which produces good quality copies but is a little slow for heavy duty work. The scanner is a convenient feature that obviously needs a PC to function and it produced create representations of the original document. Printing is probably the SX405 strongest selling point the quality is excellent on all types of documents from standard text to high resolution photographs. This is in part thanks to its high resolution and four colour ink system which is not only impressive performance wise but also makes the running costs to a minimum. Epson SX405 ink cartridges are still not as cheap as we would like in genuine form but a set of compatible Epson ink cartridges can be purchased for half the price of the original printer ink cartridges. The SX405’s operation noise is a little higher than average but the built quality seems solid and it backed up with a 12 month warranty.
